Client Testimonials

My twin daughters took self defense with Julie when they were 12 years old. The information and techniques Julie taught them are invaluable and put my mind at ease as my daughters began to navigate NYC more independently. She also has a unique talent for engaging and encouraging kids of any ability or level. I would definitely recommend taking a course with Julie whether you are an adult or kid. She also comes fully prepared with all kinds of useful equipment that the kids were excited to use. She is a lovely person and I can’t recommend her enough.

- Nola R. Mother of twin students, ages 12 (Brooklyn, NY)

Julie's self-defense class was powerful, unforgettable, and a must for anyone who wants to feel safe and prepared. The class gave me practical techniques I can easily use if needed. It was also a genuinely effective team-building exercise that helped me bond with my work colleagues and gave us all a new level of self-awareness and confidence. Professional and knowledgeable, Julie was super attentive, encouraging, and inspiring. Her passion for self-defense is palpable and infectious, and her class was an invaluable experience.

- Beth Klavir VP, Cohen & Steers, Inc. (New York, NY)

My friends and I took self defense with Julie in the pandemic. I had fun learning and felt safer walking by myself. Not only did we learn how to physically defend ourselves but we also practiced ways to talk to people and tips for uncomfortable situations and more. I learned a lot from that class and bonded with my friends in the meantime. I would do it again!

- Matilde R. Student, age 14 (Brooklyn, NY)

We loved it! The kids have been practicing and reviewing with each other. We were all super impressed. And because they took Julie's class, they now walk in the neighborhood without parental supervision. High praise!

- Josh T. Father of 2 students, ages 10 and 13 (Brooklyn, NY)

FEAR LESS GRRL Self-Defense came to our office and taught the staff valuable self defense moves, and we had a blast! Not only that, we now all feel better-equipped to walk around NYC and elsewhere, knowing we have tools at the ready should we need them. I highly recommend Julie’s class to anyone who wants to have more confidence in their ability to keep themselves safe.
